What is YinMersion And Who Is It For

YinMersion is a free 3-day online experience for yoga teachers and practitioners who want to explore yin yoga through a deeper, more embodied, and trauma sensitive approach.

Across the three days, we explore my Meridian–Emotion–Nervous System Yoga Method® through a combination of educational workshops guided yin yoga practices, reflection, and live teaching.

We’ll look at how emotions, the nervous system, and the body interact within a yin yoga practice, why stillness can feel very different from person to person, and how to approach yin yoga in a way that feels more supportive, sustainable, and attuned.

This is not a typical “learn a few poses” kind of event. It’s an opportunity to understand what is happening underneath the surface of the practice, both in yourself and in the people you might work with. Whether you’re a teacher wanting to hold space more confidently and safely, or a practitioner wanting to understand yourself on a deeper level, YinMersion is designed to give you both practical understanding and direct embodied experience.

There will also be space for questions, reflection, and integration throughout the experience. And if you cannot join live, replays will be available, so you can still move through the content in your own time.

The people who are usually drawn to this work are not necessarily beginners to yoga, however, complete beginners are also welcome of course. But in many cases, they’ve already done a lot. They’ve attended trainings, practiced for years, read the books, listened to the podcasts, explored different healing modalities, maybe even became teachers themselves.

And yet, despite all of that, something still feels unresolved or incomplete.

There’s often this quiet feeling that they understand a lot intellectually, but they still don’t fully know how to feel safe in their own body. Or they know how to guide a class structurally, but when something emotional or vulnerable arises in the room, they suddenly feel uncertain.

Yoga spaces often reward confidence, certainty, composure, having the answer, appearing calm and regulated all the time.

But underneath that, many teachers are privately wondering things like:

“What do I do when someone becomes emotional in class?”
“How do I support people without absorbing everything myself?”
“How do I hold space without feeling exhausted afterwards?”

And practitioners experience their own version of this too.

Many are doing everything they’ve been told should help. They meditate. They practice yoga regularly. They journal. They go to therapy. They attend workshops. They understand nervous system language intellectually.

And still, they find themselves stuck in the same patterns of overthinking, high functioning, shutdown, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or chronic stress.

We’ve become very focused on optimisation. Fixing. Performing healing correctly. Becoming calmer, softer, more spiritual, more productive versions of ourselves.

But the nervous system doesn’t respond particularly well to pressure, even when that pressure is disguised as healing. And yin yoga can sometimes unintentionally become part of that dynamic too. People approach the practice trying to “do relaxation in the right way.” Trying to force themselves to let go. Trying to become more flexible, more open, more healed.

But depth in this work does not come from intensity. It comes from awareness.

From beginning to notice what is actually happening in your body when you slow down.
How you respond to discomfort.
Whether you override your limits.
Whether you tend to disconnect.
Whether stillness genuinely feels supportive, or whether part of you is simply enduring.

This is why YinMersion tends to resonate deeply with people who are ready for a different kind of relationship to the practice.

Not performance-based, pushing deeper into poses or centred around becoming “better at yoga.” But rooted in curiosity, nervous system awareness, emotional honesty, and learning how to meet yourself through challenging processes.

And for teachers, this work often changes the way they relate to teaching completely. Because eventually, many realise that students rarely remember the perfectly sequenced class. What they remember is how they felt in the space with you. And creating that kind of environment asks something very different from teachers than simply memorising information.

That’s the layer we explore inside YinMersion.

And at the same time, I also want to say very honestly that this work is not for everyone.

If someone is looking for quick fixes, instant transformation, highly performative spirituality bypassing actually doing the work, or a yoga space focused mainly on aesthetics and advanced poses, this probably will not resonate very deeply.

Because this work moves slower than that. And sometimes that can feel surprisingly unfamiliar in a world that prefers instant gratification. But for the people who do resonate with it, something tends to click.

If this way of approaching yin yoga resonates with you, then YinMersion is for you.
